Why we decided to tour Canada

As far as I can remember, I've always had the travel bug. Before I moved to Canada, I had visited a few European countries and dreamt of many other places. Once I set foot to Canada, my thirst for adventure didn't wander off and I traveled quite a bit before settling down in Montreal and then later in Toronto. And to be totally honest, back when I met Adrien in 2016, I was looking to move to New Zealand for a bit. Fate had decided otherwise... but luckily for me, Adrien is also a travel lover!

Our first big travel trip as a family goes back to last summer, when Elijah had just turned one year old. We transformed our minivan into a campervan and took off to Gaspésie for about two weeks. We traveled a total of 3791 km and we all survived! A promising beginning for what was to come.

Our second big adventure was earlier this year, when we decided to move from Ontario to British Columbia. This time, we traveled 4742 km from East to West in 7 days... and all survived again! Seems like we are made to be on the road, uh? Hopefully, Baby Bean will be as much of a good traveler as Elijah is! Anyways...

Even though we were really excited to move to BC, we were not taken by the town we moved to. Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous area and we feel very lucky to be here. But it's missing a je ne sais quoi and we don't think it's the right place to open our bakery-café. So we decided to go on the hunt for this perfect spot we have in mind, instead of waiting on another job opportunity; we want to create the opportunities.

Here is a short list of what we are looking for:

- a place near the water -no matter if it's a lake, a river or the ocean,

- surrounded by nature -and Adrien would probably add a hilly/mountainous area,

- and, last but not least, a great sense of community.

If you think your hometown has it all and the people in your community would love to have a French bakery-café, OR if you are a bakery owner ready to give your place up in this kind of environment, please make sure to send us an email. We will be very happy to pay you a visit!

From France, Adrien and Charlotte met in Canada. In August 2017, Elijah was born followed by Noah in February 2020. A baker since his teenage years, Adrien always longed for the day he would be opening his bakery, supported by his family. Now is the time.
