Stay #1: Granny's Bakery-Cafe.
For different reasons, we had to postpone our departure and stay longer in Summerland. I'm not gonna complain, it gave us the opportunity to park a few days at our friends, Mike and Adrienne, who operate the Granny's Bakery-Cafe right off the BC-97 highway. That means we got to enjoy their company but also to pop at the cafe for food or drinks. Very convenient if you ask me. ;)
Our trailer was parked right besides the cherry trees on their property.
And with these gorgeous cherries, they make delicious pies from scratch. But not only! There are also apple pies, strawberry-rhubarb pies, peach-raspberry pies... and many others depending on the fruits available.
They recently got their liquor licence and are now able to serve local wines and beers along with their delicious food made with local products. Every day from 4 to 7 p.m., they make amazing pizzas; and on Sundays, it's brunch time! No matter the day or the time, I'm sure you will always find something to satisfy your hunger or thirst. And you will for sure have local products in your plate, either from their own garden or from the Fruit Stand right next door to the Bakery-Cafe.
Elijah's favorite thing at the Cafe is the apple fritters. He goes absolutely crazy for them! They also serve local and organic coffee from Lone Tree that both Adrien and I love.
If you are ever in the area, make sure to stop by!
