Crumble Apple Pie
This recipe is very easy and straightforward. Plus, it is absolutely delicious!

Yield: 8 slices for a 23 cm tart ring
Ingredients:
a short dough (recipe at the end of the post)
5-6 apples of your choice
1/4 sugar (optional)
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
And for the crumble
100g flour
60g room temperature butter
80g sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 370° F and lightly grease a 23cm tart ring if needed.
Peel, core and cut the apples into cubes. If using sugar and/or cinnamon, sprinkle onto the apples and mix together.
Line the ring with your short dough * and spread out the apples into an even layer. The amount of apples should be such as the layer is slightly above the edge of the ring -it will reduce when cooking. Set aside.
To a medium bowl, add the flour and sugar for the crumble part.
Fold in the butter and gently work together with your hands until pea-sized lumps are formed. Cover the apples with the crumble.
Bake for about 50 to 60 minutes at 370° F and enjoy warm.
Optional:
Eat with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side!
